Karachi is a famous city in Pakistan it is also called the city of lights. It is also famous for its Food. its famous food like Biryani,  Nihari, Halwa Puri and Ban Kababs, etc.

Here are some recipes for some of the street food dishes:

Biryani:

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups basmati rice
  2. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  3. 1 pound chicken, lamb, or beef, cut into bite-sized pieces
  4. 1 onion, finely chopped
  5. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  6. 1-inch ginger, grated
  7. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  8. 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  9. 1 cinnamon stick
  10. 4 green cardamom pods
  11. 4 cloves
  12. 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, bell peppers, etc.), optional
  13. 2 tablespoons biryani masala (a blend of ground spices)
  14. 2 cups chicken broth or water
  15. Salt, to taste
  16. Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice in cold water and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in a large pot or wok over medium heat. Add the chicken, lamb, or beef and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and cook until the onion is softened.
  4. Add the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, and cloves and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  5. Add the mixed vegetables, if using, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the biryani masala and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  7. Drain the rice and add it to the pot. Pour in the chicken broth or water and bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
  9. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve hot.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium potatoes, boiled and cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup chickpeas, boiled
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind chutney
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons sev (crunchy noodles)
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the potatoes, chickpeas, onion, tomato, green chili, and cilantro.
  2. Add the tamarind chutney and yogurt and mix well.
  3. Sprinkle the sev on top and serve.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound chicken, lamb, or beef, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt, to taste
  • Skewers

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, garlic, ginger, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, paprika, turmeric, and salt.
  2. Add the chicken, lamb, or beef and mix well to coat. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated meat onto skewers. Grill the kebabs for 10-12 minutes,
